Greetings from our place on the hillside of Pachatusan Mountain,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
that is located in The Sacred Valley of the Peruvian Andes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in Latin America of our beautiful Earth that is hovering in space…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Andes:<\/u><\/strong> We are up on the Andes Mountains,<\/p>\n\n\n\n stretching like a wall along the western edge of the continent,<\/p>\n\n\n\n separating the Amazon Rainforest<\/strong> from the Atacama Desert<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Around Lake Titicaca<\/strong>\u2014set at 3,810 meters\u2014the mountains widen on an east\u2013west axis,<\/p>\n\n\n\n opening living space for some of the continent\u2019s most intact Indigenous peoples<\/p>\n\n\n\n (who have not mixed with Hispanic populations).<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the northern end of this high plateau region, called the Altiplano<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n lies Cusco<\/strong> \u2014the former capital of the Inca civilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The city sits on a plain shaped\u2014and protected\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n by many mountains whose peaks rise to around 6,000 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Each of the valleys formed by these high mountains is beautiful in its own way,<\/p>\n\n\n\n but the Sacred Valley of Incas<\/strong> is something else entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sacred Valley, which also includes Machu Picchu<\/strong>, is a region where Quechua communities live,<\/p>\n\n\n\n and it draws travellers from all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our home is in San Salvador<\/strong>, one of the towns within the valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our home is built at a point where the Urubamba (Vilcanota) River reaches 3,000 meters in altitude, on the slopes of a sacred mountain called Pachatusan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are 2.5 km from town, in the middle of corn\/quinoa and Kiwicha fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n —<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our Location:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n S 13\u00b028’46” W 71\u00b047’51”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Casa Vamoss, Chuecamayo,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
