People in the same apartment building, the same housing complex, a city, a village, a planet; people devoted to the same subject… people who try to resolve what emerges from their shared ground with peace…

And then there are those who choose—even for a while—to live together intentionally: people who taste the beauty of togetherness and know how to use its advantages; who can organize around common aims; who enjoy supporting one another on their personal paths; who try to learn from the difficulties of being together; who are willing to intend together; who do not hesitate to take responsibility—for themselves and for one another—in the tangible as much as in the intangible.

When the intention of this person or these people becomes clear, a road opens—and a work begins. A core team (or even a single core person) starts the project, experiments, learns while serving, holds the responsibility of the circle, and eventually places a vision on the table.

For a community to live well, there is a serious preparation process—across foundational topics such as: how the community will live; its boundaries, stance, and search in both concrete and subtle senses; what it will take in from within and without, and what it wants to offer back; priorities; principles; decision-making mechanisms; communication methods; approaches to production; ethics; private spaces; ways of sharing; sustainability; labor planning.

During the trial phase, the core team (or person) needs to clarify a coherent vision around these matters.

We could say that Vamoss shaped its vision across 2012–2026. The Vamoss Community is made of those who have reached out to Vamoss and entered into exchange with us. Those who are here now—staying, living, holding the space—are the ones holding the energy of the community and the land: our first community, the ones whose hearts are beating with Vamoss in the present moment.

The website you are on can be seen as a manifesto.

2. How?

Knowing others is wisdom; knowing yourself is enlightenment

Lao Tzu

So how does this “dream of building a community”—a dream many of us carry—become real?

At the core, the determining factors are human and economic.

And we should say this clearly: a community is not a place for laziness—quite the opposite, it is a place for more work. This is a place where we enjoy working, and where we do not work little. And let us also be clear: we are not people (or an organization) born into wealth. We went through very difficult processes over fourteen years. Yes—our family’s support has meant a lot, may it be blessed. And still, we say it plainly: from those who want to join us, we expect frugality and diligence.

We can also share that the topics long-term guests struggle with most are: digesting the decision to live here (even for a while), leaving certain old habits behind, doing their inner work regularly, and taking responsibility for their new relationships and their new life. We see that a trial period, and regular/irregular meetings, form the backbone of how things function.

And then there is the question of finances. We have done our part here. At this moment we actively have several work streams that can generate income for all of us: our accommodation services, our South America travels, our productions, our nature school and high-altitude journeys—and even if some are not yet large, when developed further they carry the potential to create the funding we need. I once said it this way: perhaps, to build a community, someone needs to be good at Excel—because accounting and planning are a very real part of it.

Nonviolent communication, of course, is one of the most essential tools for sincere and healing relationships.

There are many groups around that are constantly in ceremony, constantly playing and dancing. If your path is like that, please do not come to us. And we should also state this: we do not accept into our community those whose main income is serving medicinal plants, creating online content or making trade, those who do not intend to leave chemical addictions behind, and those who love consuming strong plant medicines frequently and continuously.

The rest of it requires open communication, a trial period, and effort.

May our road be open.

May there be Love.

May there be Oneness.

3. Vamoss Community

No matter how much you explain,

a person will only understand as much as they want to understand…

Hz. Mevlânâ

Around Vamoss—founded in June 2012—a very beautiful circle formed. Over time, this circle grew, and it continued its path while protecting its beauty.

For fourteen years we spread by word of mouth. Since 2012, we have been in a continuous state of welcoming people. Many friends feel that spending two to three weeks here every one or two years truly supports them. Now, the circle-of-the-circle is coming too—and our circle keeps becoming more beautiful.

On our land, we want to build a small village:

a “school” that is not a school for children; rooms and homes where we offer accommodation; workshops; gardens; circle spaces; vegetable plots. Beyond our work area, we also have a zone we plan to use as a living area—large enough for four houses.

Let’s see—may what is most auspicious unfold.

We intend to share developments online during this process.

With much love—may it be easy for all of us.

4. Our Development Process

Phase 1

Clarifying the exchange with guests and the services offered

Project groundwork

Trial period in a rented place

Volunteers: 1–2

Accommodation capacity: 10 people + tent & caravan

Started in 2012, ended in 2020.

Phase 2

Clarifying the community’s stance and bringing details into form

Land purchase process

Detailed work on the project

Volunteers: 1–2

Accommodation capacity: 10 people + tent & caravan

Completed by 2018.

Phase 3

Preparing the land’s infrastructure (water, electricity, septic system, road, internet, etc.)

Building the first accommodation units

First steps for garden and vegetable plots

First relationships with neighbors and the local community

Sharing our services and community vision through various channels

Two houses with three rooms each are currently in service.

Accommodation capacity: 11 people + tent & caravan

Volunteers: 1–2

Completed by end of 2025.

Phase 4

Construction: school, greenhouse, 2 bungalows, 1 house, 1 common area, circle space

Garden and landscaping work

Digging a well

Growing the service-providing projects

Staff: 2 (1 woman, 1 man)

Volunteers: 2

Accommodation capacity: 17

Target completion: end of 2027.

5. How Vamoss Works

Vamoss Experience is inclusive and supports all business sectors and also supported by them.

Vamoss Travel organizes and operates 10–15-day journeys.

Vamoss High Altitude Journeys operates 1–4-day experiences.

Vamoss Home hosts people and holds space, etc.

Work Planning

The Vamoss community emerged organically and has always shaped itself from within. We haven’t had rigid long-term targets, nor fixed strategies designed to reach them. Instead, we tried to move forward—consistently—through our intentions and principles, and by taking responsibility.

What needed to be done that day, that week, that year was usually clear to us. We saw that whenever we didn’t hesitate to put our hands under the stone, everything began to move smoothly—clicking into place, flowing with ease. We never avoided the responsibility of taking initiative; and when needed, we also didn’t shy away from being the one to guide, to hold the front, even to lead.

The project existed with whoever was there at the time. Together with many people who actively invested their labor into Vamoss—and whose place inside Vamoss became deeply valuable—we built this dream side by side. We developed this vision here, with many beautiful souls.

6. Support

You can support us by:

taking a deep, beautiful breath whenever we come to mind,

sending a good, clean energy in our direction,

sharing us with your circle and staying connected—following along,

offering your ideas and suggestions, and sharing feedback.

Perhaps this—before anything else—is what it means to be part of the community.

A. Details 1. Community Happiness is only real when its shared.
